Da Lat is a hidden on the Lang Bian Plateau, between the mountains at about 1500 meters altitude. The city is very attractive because of its countless winding roads, vegetable gardens, waterfalls, picturesque churches and breathtaking mountainous surroundings. Da Lat is a perfect place for adventures, to relax in parks, enjoy the market and escape the heat that sometimes comes up in Vietnam.
Da Lat was used by the French colonialists to escape the heat of Vietnam. They built villas, grand old hotels and charming buildings with the Remnants of bourgeois French colonial architecture.
Because of the cooler temperature, it become the wedding and honeymoon capital of Vietnam. Couples will walk deeply in love together through the Valley of Love and can keep each other warm in the night by cuddling.
As mentioned earlier, Da Lat is the perfect place for adventures. There are many activities such as mountain biking, whitewater rafting, canyoning and hiking. It is a great way to discover the beautiful nature. Feeling less active, take a ride with Easy Riders!

How to get there?

By plane: Da Lat has a small airport called Lien Khuong Airport (DLI) where you can fly to from Ho Chi Minh, Da Nang and Hanoi. The airport is about 30 kilometers from Da Lat City. Take a shuttle bus to the centre for about 40,000 VND. If you want to get a taxi, do not pay more than 200,000 VND.

By bus: The bus station is about two kilometers south of Xuan Huong Lake (01 To Hien Thanh). The biggest operator isi Phuong Trang but there are also a few small ones. Below hours and the average prices. They can vary per company.

By Train: The closest train station is about 100 kilometers from Da Lat in My Hung Ward, Phang Rang commune. From there on, you can take a local bus to Da Lat Centre.

Nha Trang railway station is 135 kilometers from Da Lat and also offers busses to Da Lat Centre. These busses are with air-con and might be more convenient.

How long staying?

2-3 days

Top Spots in Da Lat - Vietnam

Valley of Love (Vallee d’Amour)

The Valley of Love consists of beautiful gardens and rolling green hills. It had in the past, the same as true love, several obstacles and challenges. A honeymoon destination in Vietnam with deep valleys and pine forests. You can visit the park and have a lovely picnic at one of the picnic spaces. It has a beautiful lake where you can hire a swan paddle boat to explore. It is about 5 kilometers from Da Lat City Centre.

Lang Biang Mountain

The highest mountain of Da Lat with 2.169m above sea level. It has a love story of K’Lang (a boy of Lach minority people) and Ho-biang (a girl of Chil minority people). They both lived at the foot of the mountain and they met each other by chance. Because of the different minorities, they couldn't get married, so they decided to live on top of the mountain. One day, Ho-biang caught a critically illness and they had to go back to the tribe for help. The family of Ho-biang hated K’Lang and decided to kill him with a poisoned arrow. Suddenly, Ho-biang stood before her husband, was shot and died. K’Lang could not suffer his lost and also died after a short time. After the death of both, Biang’s father realized what he did before was wrong. He decided to unite all the hill tribes of Lach, Lang and Biang and to turn them into one called K’ho.

You can hike up to the mountain, but also take a motorbike of jeep.

Address: Located on Lang Biang Plateau, Lac Duong District

Crazy house

A special house built by an artist that gives you the extraordinary experience. The architecture is interesting and has many twists and turns. With a great view over Da Lat, worth to visit. Besides visiting the house, it is also possible to stay there.

Datanla Falls

This waterfall is the closest to Da Lat and very popular with tourists so it can be crowded. It has different levels that also has different activities such as a roller coaster, rafting, cable car and jumping. The waterfall is not very impressive, but it has a great path to walk and is perfect for adventurers.

Dambri Falls

One of the most impressive waterfalls in south and central Vietnam and the highest in the province. With its 130 kilometer from Da Lat, it is a little further than other waterfalls, but totally worth visiting it. The waterfalls have incredible views where clear, cold water runs off the mountains of the Central Highlands. There are restaurants, trinket shops, swan-shaped pedalos and a mini roller-coaster.

Linh Phuoc Pagoda

The complex is covered with ceramic mosaics and filled with beautiful art. Everything is made with various materials, including dried flowers. There is also an interesting underground museum of artefacts and sculptures.

Domaine De Marie Church

This church was built in 1942 and once a home to 300 nuns. Nowadays, there are still living a few Roman Catholic nuns of the Mission of Charity. They make and sell handicrafts in their shop and look after disabled children.

Railway Station

Dalat Railway station is designed in 1932 by French architects Reveron and Moncet. It is a very interesting piece of the french architecture and it has the art-deco style. Nowadays, it is used as a service to nearby Trai Mat. The old steam engine rides several times a day to Trai Mat.
