Japanese Covered Bridge

This bridge is the most visited place in Hoi An, also known as the Cau Chua. It was built in the 17th century and has a interesting Japanese architecture. The function of the bridge was to connect Nguyen Thi Minh Khai St. with Tran Phu St. to connect with the Chinese quarter.

Custom Made Clothes

Loads of people don’t leave Hoi An without having their own custom made clothes. The city is full of stores where you can get your dream clothes. Go inside and take a look in a book for samples or bring your own design with you. Choose the fabric you want, negotiate and get measured. After a few fittings, usually two days, your clothes are ready! Try to find a good tailor and look at Tripadvisor for reviews.

Night Market

The night market is a very lively place to be. You will find the famous lanterns made of silk, lace and chiffon. There is also the possibility to learn to make your own lantern, which is more difficult than you think, but really enjoyable. Next to the lanterns you will find jewelry, silk, kimonos and more things that are typical of Hoi An. The lightning lanterns provide a very nice and warm atmosphere.

An Bang Beach

The most beautiful beach in Hoi An where you can enjoy swimming and relax under perfect circumstances. There are plenty beach bars to have lovely food and drinks. Get a sunbed, parasol and coconut and listen to some live music!

Thu Bon River

Hoi an was a very important point for traders from the 16th to the 18th century. Traders such as China, the Netherlands, Japan, Portugal, France and India stopped most at Hoi An. The buildings along the river are a mix of Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese styles and are more than 200 years old. You can have a great dinner with a view of the river and by night a beautiful boat tour with lanterns around you.

Central Market Food Hall

A perfect market if you want to try a lot of food in Hoi An. Get fresh fish, vegetables, local products and many other dishes. It starts in the morning with food stalls that stand side by side. They serve fresh products all day, so you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner. Do not only taste the food, but also the atmosphere on the street.

Museum of Trade Ceramics

This building with the traditional Vietnamese architecture was built in 1975. It has 430 ceramic artifacts representing the ceramic trade network from the 8th to 18th century. The museum shows the important role of the Trade Port, which had a huge influence on the socio-cultural and economic development in Hoi An.

Old House of Tan Ky

This house has an interesting Japanese, Chinese and Vietnamese architecture with many details. The house was built for a Vietnamese merchant family and has been passed through the same Vietnamese family for seven generations. The house is now more than 200 years old. The house is still furnished so that you can see how the merchants lived.

Opening hours: 08:00 to 17:00

Fujian Assembly Hall

You will see a colorful courtyard with fountains and a beautiful temple with Chinese architecture. This famous hall was built around 1690. It was used for the Chinese ethnic group to socialize and worship. Later on, it changed into a temple to dedicate to the goddess of sea (Thien Hau).

Cham Island

Go to the Cham Islands for a day to enjoy some snorkeling or diving. It is about 15 kilometers from Hoi An and has beautiful granite islands.
